Roasted Tea Twigs
Origin: Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan
Hojicha is unique in that, after the first flush tea leaves are harvested, the remaining twigs are lightly roasted removing the grassy or vegetal notes found in Japanese green teas.
Discover a smooth and earthy brew that is nutty with cream and vanilla notes, a faint smoky flavor and the aroma of caramelized brown sugar. An excellent digestif.
Preparation: Bring water to 185ºF/85°C. Use 1 ½ tsp per 6 oz water. Steep 1 minute.
