Scented Green Tea
Origin: Fuzhou, Fujian, China
It was during the Western Han Dynasty that jasmine was first introduced to China from the Persian Gulf and has since been cultivated for over 2,000 years. The technique of scenting tea dates back about 1,000 years and originated in Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian Province. Fuzhou is also the hometown of jasmine and combined with the cultivation of tea has, through the centuries, created a culture where the two are very much intertwined.
Jasmine green tea is a classic that has endured for centuries. Chinese green tea is scented with aromatic jasmine blossoms to create this light and lovely tea.
Preparation: Heat water to 170°F – 175 °F. Use 1 level teaspoon per cup. Steep 2 minutes.
