It is well known that through the ages monks considered tea as an elixir of life and consumed the beverage not only for its healing and restorative properties, but for its ability to enhance their focus and concentration through long hours of meditation. Little is known about the origin of Monk’s Blend but it is thought to have originated in ancient Tibetan monasteries. Skillfully blended using classic highland Ceylon black teas, calendula and sunflower petals, and flavored with natural oils of vanilla and grenadine, Monk’s Blend tea is an aromatic and harmonious blend that is medium bodied, sweet and toasty with the piquant character of fine Ceylon teas. Perfect for anytime of the day.
Preparation: Bring cold water to a boil. Use 1 tsp for each cup. Add boiling water and steep for 2.5 to 3 minutes. Delicious on its own, but also stands well to milk and sugar.
