Sencha is the quintessential Japanese tea. Grown on the southernmost island of Kyushu, Japan, our Okumidori Sencha is a prized tea harvested from the rare Okumidori cultivar. Enjoyed by connoisseurs, its intense green color results from a steaming process before the leaves are hand-rolled into shape; once infused, they unfurl into velvety green leaves. Enjoy the delicate fragrance of apple blossoms, cooked soybean, and the marine-like scent of an oceanside retreat. Balanced with a rich umami flavour, nori, and fresh vegetal notes, Okumidori Sencha makes for a fine tea experience.
Preparation: Heat water to 79°C / 175°F. Use 1 to 2 tsp per 6 oz of water. Steep for 1 to 1.5 minutes.
